Hyena Chases And Finishes Off A Kudu On Woman’s Backyard Deck

Wildlife Photographer Kristi James posted this incredible story on social media about waking up to a Hyena killing it’s prey in her backyard. Check it out:

Kristi James:
“After I rang in the new year I made my way to bed. Not 10 minutes after laying down I hear something being chased by my (open) window and then crashing onto the dining room deck (1:30am).

Kristi James:
“After the commotion settled I went to investigate and found a hyena with a kudu!! I spent the night watching nature in it’s unapologetically natural glory.”

“For one single hyena to take down a full grown male kudu is no easy task! The extra 200kgs or more plus those massive spiral horns can easily do damage to a spotted hyena.

Kristi James:
“The hyena came out on top of this one and secured itself an epic New Years feast! Well done to her for starting her year off like a champ! RIP Kudu, I hope you lived 2018 to the fullest!”
